“You have amazing breasts, I love them.”
*****
Amelia couldn’t breathe. Literally she had to force air back into her lungs. She glanced down and shook her head at seeing Nigel rubbing his face all over her breasts like a cat. “They’re just breasts, a little bit bigger than I would like, but nothing spectacular.”
He growled at her surprising her when he looked up displeased. “They are spectacular, just like you and I won’t have you talking about yourself otherwise.”
Okay. That was new. Nigel was acting weird, different, unlike himself. He looked at her like he wanted to devour her and his touch—he touched her with such reverence. He was possessive.
“Are you okay?”
He nibbled on a nipple. “Never been better in my entire existence.”
She told herself to stop analyzing everything, just let herself go and enjoy this. She wasn’t sure whether she and Nigel would have many more nights like tonight so she was determined to enjoy every single moment.
Amelia wrapped her arms around his neck and held him close to her as he suckled one breast and kneaded the other with his hand. As the tremors inside from her previous orgasm slowly faded a new burn was growing inside of her. Her body, now sensitized, reacted to every pull, every tug, and every bite he gave her.
“I need you.” Was that her voice? It sounded hoarse and strained.
Nigel released her flesh with a pop and licked his way up to her. She opened her legs wider to give him access and she could feel his cock just outside her entrance. She wanted him inside of her with a desperation she didn’t know she had.
He looked into her eyes. “Do you want me to call you, Lia?”
What? Why was he asking this now? Concentrate Nigel. “I don’t care.”
He growled pulling away from her slightly. “I do. Your close friends call you Lia. We are closer than friends, so I want to call you something special.”
Oh, now she understood he wanted them to have something to call each other that sets them apart from everyone else. For some reason she really liked that, but she didn’t need some cutesy name. She reached up and cupped his face with her hands. “Call me yours.”
A light of desire flared in his eyes. “Mine, yes you are mine and I’m yours.” He took her lips in a fierce claiming kiss and then he plunged his cock into her tight depths.
It felt so amazing to have him fill her. She never knew how empty she was inside until now. It was like every empty space inside of her body, her heart and her soul were being filled with pieces of him. She looked up into his handsome face and the expression in his eyes made her think that he was feeling the same way.
He moved in and out of her. It was so amazing to feel connected to someone, they moved together in perfect harmony to reach a mutual destination. She wrapped her legs around his waist and her arms around his shoulders.
She gave herself to him, letting all her inhibitions go. As her body tightened up on the inside she felt his hands on her caressing and stroking her. He knew exactly what she needed and he made sure to build up her desire. Finally she felt her body arching and her mind soaring to the stars. His voice called out her name from a distance right before she felt his seed spill inside of her.
She didn’t know how long they held their bodies connected like that, but she groaned when he finally pulled free from her. She wanted to have him back inside but no words would come to her. He turned them to their sides and stroked her body soothingly. She kept her eyes shut basking in the aftermath of their lovemaking.
“Are you okay, Amelia?”
She half laughed half cried. “I’m never felt so—complete.” When he didn’t respond immediately she opened her eyes to peer over at him. “Are you okay?”
He reached for her hand and brought it to his lips then lowered it to lie over his heart. “You have no idea what you’ve done to me have you?”
She bit her bottom lip worried that he was about to end things with her. “What have I done?”
He cleared his throat. “I lost my heart at six years old. I saw that my mother had bled out and no one could save her, especially me. I didn’t have the strength to beat the guards, I didn’t have the skill or intelligence to make deals with the scientists. I was helpless. She was the only thing in this world I ever loved.”
Amelia blinked back tears for the small child who lost so much. When she would have said something comforting, he placed a finger on her lips to keep her quiet.
“She was the only thing in this world I ever loved—until now. You walked into my life with fire and a saucy mouth. I wanted you from day one, but I put aside those feelings because we worked together. Slowly you wiggled your way through a crack in my heart I had no idea still existed. You got in where no one else ever had and refused to leave.”
She leaned up on her elbow. “What are you saying Nigel?”
“I’m in love with you.”
She gasped at his words. She knew he meant every word. She launched herself at him raining kisses across his face. “I love you too, so much.”
He chuckled rolling over on his back and pulling her on top of him. “Show me, show me how much you care for me.”
Amelia straddled his waist and looked down at him hungrily. “My pleasure.”
Chapter 11
Early the next morning
The knocking on Nigel’s door grew louder and louder, until he finally climbed out of bed and dragged on his jeans, stomping to the main room to pull open the door. “What?”
“Good to see you too, Nigel.”
“Dom.”
“Can I come in or did you want to discuss things through the door?”
Nigel moved to the side and let his old friend enter.
“I tried to contact Amelia to let her know I arrived, but I can’t get her on the phone.” Dom took a seat on the large sofa.
Nigel looked up just as Amelia entered the room wearing one of his dress shirts. It was really long on her reaching her knees. He watched as Dom looked at her and raised an eyebrow.
“I guess this means you won’t be coming to work for me after all.”
She came to his side and Nigel wrapped an arm around her waist. She blushed a little but held her shoulders straight. “I appreciate the offer Dom but—”
“She’s had a better offer.” Nigel finished for her. He worried that he may have spoken out of turn but she smiled at him. “What’s going on with Clark Davidson?”
“Clark has been pushing for months that the GCFA to make him a board member or move him up to your position, but the GCFA doesn’t have a higher position they can move you to at this time. They’ve told him as long as you are in your current position that he would have to wait. Then about two weeks ago, I walked in on a GCFA meeting that I was not invited to. Clark was claiming that money from the GCFA accounts was being transferred to an anonymous almost untraceable account. They ordered him to do a full investigation. Last week he claimed that his investigation led to you. I was the one to demand that the GCFA board members come here and question you in person and I demanded that Clark bring his evidence.”
“This is bullshit!” Amelia crossed her arms over her chest.
Nigel kissed the top of her head. “Dom knows that, he knows me. Let’s hear what he has planned.” He took her hand and moved over to a chair. He sat down and pulled her down to sit on his lap.
“Fine, what are you going to do about this false accusation toward Nigel?” She demanded.
“I’ve had my own investigators looking into it. We’ve tracked an account the money went to, but it was set up with your signature.”
“I didn’t do it Dom!”
Dom held up his hands. “I know you didn’t do this.”
“It doesn’t sound like it.” Amelia was not happy.
“Nigel makes good money and he makes solid investments. The amount of money was a drop in the bucket compared to what Nigel actually has.”
Nigel looked away. “That’s my business.”
/>
She looked at him in surprise. He never talked about his money.
“So you don’t believe I needed the money enough to steal it, but will the others believe it?” Nigel ran his hand down Amelia’s arm needing her touch.
“We need to find proof that Clark set that account up.”
“What about getting the signature identified.”
“We would have to find an expert to get here in time to present the evidence for the GCFA board members. I don’t know anyone with forensic expertise.” Dom shook his head apologetically.
“I bet Rachel and Trig do. They worked with the IDJ and sometimes they use their contacts to help with security matters.”
“I couldn’t ask them to do that for me.” Nigel felt uncomfortable relying on others to help him. He was used to wheeling and dealing to get things done. He was embarrassed that he couldn’t fix this mess himself.
Amelia rolled her eyes at him. “I’ll ask them. They both think of you as a friend and you would do the same for them if you could.” Amelia gave him a look that meant business before turning her attention back to Dom. “Will that be enough to clear Nigel’s name?”
“It will help tremendously. It’s enough to throw the doors wide open for a full investigation. The best solution would be to somehow get a confession, or catch Clark red handed. Right now he has full access to Nigel’s computer and he could be adding more fake evidence as we speak. That has to be stopped.”
“I have an idea.” Amelia stood up and walked over to the sofa and bent to pick up her purse she had dropped there the night before. She opened it up and pulled out what looked like a flash drive. “This is my access key. It lets me dial into Nigel’s computer so that I can look for documents he needs or change his calendar. If we could get someone with experience, we could dial in and set up a tracking program that records all Clark’s actions when he tries to use Nigel’s computer.”
“I’m going to ignore the fact that I didn’t know you could do that, but how will it help if Clark is using his own laptop or contacting someone else to do all the transfers? Also, the more he uses my computer the guiltier I look. Let’s not forget that he set all this up using a different computer, not mine.” Nigel couldn’t believe he didn’t know Amelia had such access. He trusted her completely but it showed him that they both had a lot to learn about each other still.
“We need a hacker.” Amelia commented. “Someone who could hack into Clark’s laptop and maybe bug his phone. Rachel and Trig have to know someone who could do that.”
“Amelia, you call Rachel and Trig and ask them for help. I’m going to go in and take over Nigel’s office to block off Clark’s access. It might also make him desperate enough to make some mistakes.” Dom stood up and walked over to the door.
“What should I do?” Nigel felt useless. He wanted to do something to help clear his name.
“Stay visible. Go out in public locations and make sure that you are around other people. You want to show people that you have nothing to hide.”
“That’s it?”
“Yes, for now. I know this is hard for you Nigel, but let others help you with this. We need to get the evidence to prove your innocence and the less involved you are with it the more believable a case we can build.”
“Fine.” Nigel didn’t like it but he had no choice. He was grateful to have people who believed in him and that would go out of their way to help prove his innocence. He got up and moved to the door. He reached out and shook Dom’s hand. “Thanks for coming and for your help.”
“You’ve been a good friend to me Nigel, especially when my sister died. I wouldn’t be much of a male if I sat back and let some lowlife fame hungry asshole take down my best friend.”
Amelia came over and hugged Dom. “I’ll be in the office as soon as I talk to Rachel and Trig.”
Dom kissed the top of her head and smiled when Nigel growled at him. “Take your time beautiful. Nigel, you better make sure that you convince your female to stay with you after this is all over, because I still need an assistant.”
Nigel pulled her away from Dom and held her next to him possessively. “Look elsewhere, my female is not available.”
Amelia tried to elbow him in the ribs with frustration. “Your female? Since when did I become your female?”
“Since the moment I touched your soft skin and tasted your sweetness.”
“Nigel!” Amelia turned a lovely shade of red and tapped his chest.
He chuckled along with Dom. Dom left them alone and Nigel surprised her by lifting her up and putting her back against the door.
“What are you doing?” Her voice was breathy.
“I think I need to prove to you just how much you are my female, just so you won’t forget.”
“We have things to do.” She whispered even though she lifted her legs to wrap around his hips and arched her back.
“Nothing is more important to me than you, Amelia.” He growled out against her neck.
He kissed her as his fingers worked her until she was ready. Then he pulled his pants down far enough to free himself.
“I can’t wait any longer.”
“Then don’t wait.”
He plunged into her tight entrance and groaned from the sweet tight glove that sheathed him. “You’re mine, Amelia!”
“Always!”
Chapter 12
A few hours later
Nigel was bored. Amelia had left to go back to her place to change and get ready for work and he needed something to do. So, he decided to come down to the training center to work out some of his frustrations with the punching bag. He felt someone come in and stand behind him. He didn’t need to turn around to know who it was.
“Do you have a problem Phoenix?”
“Are you going to stop seeing Lia?”
He held back his growl at the use of her name in such a familiar way. How dare this male think he has any right to question his relationship with Amelia. “Never.”
“You’re dragging her down with you and all this mess you’re involved in.”
“Amelia wants to be with me, it’s her choice. I didn’t do what I am being accused of. I don’t have to explain myself to you.”
“You’re just going to break her heart again.”
Nigel snarled in anger. “I will never hurt her—not again. I don’t have to defend myself to you.”
“I was here when you fucked her and left without a word. I care about her. I comforted her when she needed a shoulder to cry on. She cried a lot because of you. I want a chance to make her happy.”
Nigel couldn’t seem to control his jealousy. “Did you put the moves on her while she was vulnerable?” When the male didn’t respond he grabbed him by the neck and backed him up against the wall. “What did you do?”
“Not nearly enough if she still falls back on your bullshit!”
They were drawing attention and some of the other fighters came up. Hammer the Biclops, a half human and half Cyclops, pulled them apart. No one was stronger than a Biclops. “What’s going on?”
Nigel didn’t want the others to get involved with his and Amelia’s personal business. This was between him and Phoenix. “Nothing.”
Hammer didn’t look convinced. He looked at Phoenix. “What about you? Do you have a problem?”
“Yeah I do, but it’s between me and him.”
“If you two want to go at it, you’ll do it in the cage and I’ll referee it to keep it clean and fair. Do you agree?”
Nigel and Phoenix locked eyes with one another. “Agreed.”
*****
“This is going nowhere.” Amelia complained as she leaned over Dom’s shoulder glaring at Nigel’s computer. They had been working all morning on trying to find traces of Clark’s invasion. Ever since Dom kicked Clark’s ass out of the office.
It was kind of funny. She had just opened the office suite up and sat at her desk when Clark strolled in like he owned the place.
“Miss Jones, I want a cup
of coffee.”
She raised an eyebrow at him. “I don’t fetch coffee.”
“Well, what the hell do you do?”
“She does whatever the hell I need her to do.” Dom said as he walked into the office.
“Dom, what are you doing here?”
“I’m handling everything until this business with Nigel is settled.”
“I’m in charge here.”
“Who told you that?”
“I just assumed…”
“I have seniority Clark. You are stepping over the line. You need to leave and stay out of this office until further notice.”
The expression on Clark’s face was priceless. He stormed out grumbling. After he left she and Dom got her access key and tried to look for clues themselves on Clark tampering with things but they weren’t sure what they were looking for.
“I guess we’re not tech savvy enough to figure it out without some help. Good thing your friends Rachel and Trig called in one of their contacts. When will their expert get here?”
“Sam Porter should arrive later this afternoon.”
“Well, there’s nothing else we can do then. Why don’t you go to lunch?”
She smiled. “Thanks Dom, I’ve been wanting to check in on Nigel. He wasn’t happy when I left this morning without him.”
“I could tell, you’ve been distracted. You’ve checked your watch multiple times.” He waved her off but stopped her right before she left. “You may want to check the training facility first.”
“Why?”
“I got a report from one of the trainers that Nigel was participating in practice matches.”
She looked at him shocked. “He’s not a trained fighter.”
Dom snorted. “Nigel may not have trained to be a GCFA fighter, but he’s one hundred percent skilled enough to fight anyone we’ve got.”
Amelia couldn’t get the image of Nigel bloody and hurt down in the training facility. She had never seen Nigel fight, she knew he worked out but fighting was a different story. She grabbed her purse and rushed out of the office. Please let him be okay.
